The Changing Stripes Afghan Crochet Pattern #605 is made with medium worsted weight, size 4 yarn. The pictures are shown using Black, Soft Grey Mix, and Kelly Green. I designed this blanket for one of my nephews, who was really into green. I love how the Kelly Green adds a bright pop of color and becomes the breakout star! Below you will find the free pattern with all of the yarn specifics. There are so many ways to make this blanket. Neutrals, brights, pastels, and even one color throughout will make for a unique and personalized blanket for everyone. Size: Blanket is approximately 44 inches wide and approximately 54 inches long.
Materials List:
-3 skeins of Caron One Pound medium (size 4) yarn …Pictured: Color A is shown using 1 skein of Caron One Pound in Black (812 yards per skein) , Color B is shown using 1 skein of Caron One Pound in Soft Grey Mix (812 yards per skein), and Color C is shown using 1 skein of Caron One Pound in Kelly Green (812 yards per skein).
–US I/9-5.50mm crochet hook…check gauge…feel free to change hook size to get the correct gauge.
–Tapestry Needle (for weaving in ends)
Gauge:
The gauge is approximately 13 dc X 8 rows = 4 in x 4 in
Notes:
-ch=chain, dc= double crochet, st(s)= stitch(es), YO= yarn over
-Count your stitches after each row to be sure you do not miss a stitch.
-Ch 3 at beginning of each row counts as dc, use it as a stitch space at the end of each row.
-R1 is Right Side
-Reminder to Beginners: When you are working the last dc at the end of a row and need to change colors because the next row is a different color, be sure a slip knot is placed on the new color and the hook uses it in place of the “last YO” when pulling the the new color through the final two loops on hook stage. This will complete the final dc and your new color will be ready.

R2-R11: ch 3 (ch 3 counts as first dc), turn, dc in next st and each additional st across = 178 sts
