ch 18
R1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, sc in each additional ch across = 17 sc
R2: ch 1, turn, sc in 1st sc, bl sc in next 15 sc, sc in last sc = 17 sc
R3-R66: same as R2 (add, or delete, rows if you need a different circumference)
After R66, do NOT fasten off. Seam: With hook still in loop, ch 1, turn, fold right sides together so that the ends are lined up and the 17 stitches line up side by side. Sl st the ends together using the bottom loop of the beginning ch row and then the front loop of the sc (from R66) for the first 16 sl stitches. Lastly, use the bottom loop of the beginning chain row and the 2 loops of the final sc (from R66) for the last sl st. When finished with slip stitching ends, fasten off and weave ends. Turn right side out. Headband is now ready to wear.
