Easy crochet infinity scarf pattern for beginner in bulky yarn

The Cascade Infinity Scarf Pattern #327 is made with soft bulky weight, size 5 yarn. The pictures are shown using Big Twist Chunky in Chunky Natural. Below you will find the free pattern with all of the yarn specifics, however, any size 5 yarn you love will work perfectly!  Below you will find the free pattern.  You can also purchase an inexpensive, printer-friendly, PDF of this pattern at my Etsy shop MarlowsGiftCottage, or with the direct pattern link here.

Advanced Beginner

Please read all directions before beginning project.

Size: Scarf is approximately 9 inches wide and approximately 63 inches in circumference.

Easy crochet infinity scarf pattern for beginner

Materials List:

-2 skeins of bulky yarn (size 5)…Pictures are shown using Big Twist Chunky in Chunky Natural (which has 195 yards per skein)…you will only use a small portion of the 2nd skein

US Q 15.75 mm crochet hook…feel free to change hook size to get the correct gauge. 

Tapestry Needle (for weaving in ends)

Scissors

Gauge:

The gauge is approximately 6 hdc X 5 rows = 4 in x 4 in

Notes:

-ch(s)=chain(s), hdc= half double crochet, st(s)= stitch(es), sl st= slip stitch

-Count your stitches after each row to be sure you do not miss a stitch (the first stitch, after the ch 2, is tighter and often overlooked)

ch 100, join with a sl st to first ch to form circle (be sure not to twist chain)

R1: ch 2 (counts as first hdc), hdc in next ch and in each additional ch across, join with sl st to top of ch 2 =100 hdc

R2: ch 2 (counts as first hdc), hdc in next hdc and in each additional hdc across, join with sl st to top of ch 2 =100 hdc

R3-R12: same as R2

After R12, fasten off and weave ends.
