The Simple Scarf Crochet Pattern #329 is made with size 5 yarn, making it an easy size of yarn to crochet with.  Below you will find the free pattern.  You can also purchase an inexpensive, printer-friendly, PDF of this pattern at my Etsy shop MarlowsGiftCottage, or with the direct pattern link here.

My MarlowsGiftCottage Etsy shop has all of my original crochet pattern designs.  You will find slouchy hats, beanie hats, ear warmers, headbands, scarves, cowls, wraps, blankets (baby, afghan, throw), baskets, bowls, etc.

You will also be able to order my finished slouchy hats, and beanies, in tons of color choices and styles.

I love designing crochet patterns for beginners because I want everyone to feel successful with the piece that they put their heart, and time, into. Even though this is a beginner scarf, I also designed it with crocheters who have been crocheting for a long time, in mind. With the slight texture changes, it becomes an elegant scarf that is easy to elevate with colorful yarn, or a sophisticated solid yarn.

If you love to make gifts for holidays and birthdays, this scarf is a fun, easy, and versatile gift to make for any loved one!

Crochet Pattern #329 The Simple Scarf

  Easy Wrap Scarf

Beginner

Please read all directions before beginning project.

Size: Scarf is approximately 5 1/2 inches wide and approximately 76 1/2 inches long.

Materials List:

-2 skeins of Bulky weight yarn (size 5)…Pictures are shown using Big Twist Chunky in Chunky Dove (which has 195 yards per skein), however, using any size 5 yarn will work well. Size 5 yarn is a super friendly size of yarn to use…one of my favorites!

US J/10-6.00mm crochet hook…check gauge…feel free to change hook size to get the correct gauge.

Tapestry Needle (for weaving in ends)

Scissors

-Tape Measure

Gauge:

The gauge is approximately 12 sc X 14 rows = 4 in x 4 in

Because it is a scarf, you can be flexible with gauge a bit (all yarn brands have a slight difference in thickness/fluffiness). Scarves are a great accessory to make and not worry too much about matching gauge perfectly. This quality makes them a great beginner project!!

-ch=chain, sc= single crochet, bl sc= back loop single crochet, st(s)= stitch(es)

-Count your stitches after each row to be sure you do not miss a stitch
